Athlitiq builds and runs websites for high school athletic conferences and their schools: schedules, scores, news and staff pages. This page explains what information we handle, why, who helps us run the service, and how to reach us.
It covers athlitiq.com and every conference and school site we run, whether its address ends in athlitiq.com or is the conference's or school's own.
The short version
- Visitors don't need an account, and our sites don't ask visitors for anything.
- We don't run ads or analytics tools, and we don't sell or rent personal information.
- When we email someone a link to a preview of their conference's site, the link carries a short code. If the preview is opened and used, we note the code and the time, so we know the email reached someone. Nothing else is recorded, and no cookies are set.
- Staff accounts are for school and conference staff, by invitation only.
- Questions or requests: hello@athlitiq.com.
Visiting a site
You can read every public page without signing in. Our sites set no cookies for visitors.
A few small notes stay in your own browser and are never sent to us: that you've seen or closed an announcement, that a site's opening animation already played, and, on athlitiq.com, that you've seen a box on our home page.
Like any website host, our host (Vercel) receives the IP address and browser type of everyone who loads a page, and keeps standard records of those requests to run and protect the service.
Some pages show pictures and video kept on other sites. Your browser loads those straight from those sites, so they see your IP address and browser type, just as when you visit them:
- YouTube preview images, and the YouTube player once you press play. YouTube's own privacy policy covers the videos you watch.
- Game images from NFHS Network. Game links open on the NFHS Network site.
- Photos and logos that schools, conferences and news sites keep on their own sites.
Asking us for a site
The form at athlitiq.com/start asks for your name, school and email; your conference's name, colors, website and where its official scores are kept; its schools, with their websites and schedule pages; and the names, roles, emails and phone numbers of the people we should work with. You can also attach a logo.
The form comes to our team as one email, sent through an email delivery service (Resend). It isn't saved in our database. We use it only to set up your site and to reply to you.
Staff accounts
Staff accounts are created only by invitation from a school or conference. For each account we keep the person's name, email, role and school. Passwords are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form that can't be read back.
Invitations and sign-in links are emailed through Zoho Mail. Each one we send is noted in the site's change history.
When you sign in, we set one cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, renewed while you use the site. We record the IP address and browser of each sign-in. The schedule page can save a copy of itself on your device so it opens without a signal; that copy is cleared when you sign out.
We keep a history of the changes staff make (who changed what, and when), so a school can see and undo them. That history can include names, emails and phone numbers that were changed.
What school sites show
Each conference and school decides what its site shows. That can include:
- Staff directory entries the school chooses to make public: name, role, email and office phone.
- Schedules and scores. We read these from schools' public schedule pages and scheduling services, and staff can add or correct them.
- Honors lists and other pages that name student-athletes, entered by school staff.
- News headlines and short previews from local news sites, and game listings from NFHS Network. These can name students.
To change or remove something on a school's site, contact the school, or email us at hello@athlitiq.com.
The site assistant
Signed-in staff can ask an AI assistant to make changes to their site. It runs on Google's Gemini service, through Google's paid API. What the staff member types is sent to Google, with their name, role and school, and the site information the assistant looks up to answer, which can include directory names, emails and phone numbers.
We don't save these conversations. We keep each change the assistant makes in the change history, and a count of how much each school has used the assistant. Visitors' information is never sent to the assistant.
Who helps us run Athlitiq
We use these services to run Athlitiq, and share information with each only so it can do its part:
- Vercel hosts our sites.
- Neon stores our database.
- GitHub runs our scheduled jobs that read public schedules, news and game listings.
- Resend delivers the athlitiq.com/start form to us.
- Zoho Mail sends invitations and sign-in links.
- ImprovMX and Google (Gmail) deliver email sent to our addresses into our team inbox.
- Google (Gemini) runs the site assistant.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep information
We keep account, directory and change-history information while a school or conference uses Athlitiq. When a school removes someone's access, their sign-in ends right away and their password is deleted; their name and email stay in the change history, so the school can see who made past changes.
Requests sent through the athlitiq.com/start form stay in our team inbox.
Copies of schools' schedule pages that we read are deleted after 30 days.
To have your information deleted, email hello@athlitiq.com. We'll delete what we can and tell you if anything has to stay, and why.
Children
Athlitiq accounts are for adult school and conference staff. Students don't sign up, and our sites don't collect information from children. School sites can name students in honors lists, results and news, and photos can show students; each school decides what to post. To have something removed, contact the school or email hello@athlitiq.com.
Keeping information safe
Our sites use encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only in hashed form. Staff can see and change only the sites and schools their account is for.
Changes to this page
When we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
